Hardest thing about 2020
“Not being able physically visit with our Rural Senior’s - Knowing that they are unable to have family/visitors during this time and for many having to go without grocery items, personal items and communication from their fellow friends for fear of catching COVID-19. The isolation that they feel and seeing/hearing how lonely they have been during this time is heartbreaking.”
Silver Lining(s) of 2020
“New programs and funding for Seniors that emerged from COVID-19. Being able to help our local seniors on many fronts from Home Health Care to help with grocery’s to just being able to check in with them on a consistent basis.”
Client Story
“Elaine – 96 – “Senior Hub is a God Send”, “I would not have been able to stay in my home with out the assistance that I receive from my Home Health Care provider and the new programs that I am able to receive” Elaine is a recipient of our In-Home Health Care Program and also received Material Aid / May Farms meals two times a week. With our programs she would not be able to continue to reside in her own home and have balanced meals delivered to her on a consistence basis. Elaine said to me “I am so grateful for the companionship of Dianna and all her help, I would be lost with out her” Elaine has a smile on her face every morning when Dianna comes regardless of any pain she may be in. When I see any of her family when I am out and about, they immediately come over and (before COVID) would give me a big hug and say thank you so much for everything you do for my Mom.”
“Cathy – 76 – Cathy has been on our MOW program for many years and was one of the clients that helped us with our Pilot Meal program – “Since COVID-19, I have been more isolated and not able to get out and do things like I did before, I appreciate the Senior Hub and Lindsay so much for the Meals that she delivers twice a week.” “Because I do not have internet or a computer, I live alone and Lindsay delivering my meals is the highlight of my week” Cathy told me how much she looks forward to seeing Lindsay twice a week and the phone calls from her checking in with her. “I receive a balanced three balanced meals a week and am so grateful for the friendly face that comes with them” “I am not sure what I would do with out them”
