VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

There are many ways you can help! From just an hour or two a week to several hours a week; from a one-time volunteer job to an on-going commitment, The Senior Hub has the perfect fit for you.

Meals on Wheels

Route Delivery Driver - We are in desperate need of drivers! Choose the number of weekdays you deliver meals to clients. You can drive one day, two days, three or four days, or even five days. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday around the Noon hour, with pickup of meals generally beginning at The Senior Hub main office at 11:30 a.m. Drivers are especially needed to deliver routes in parts of Unincorporated Adams County and Westminster. Homecare Program In-Home Volunteer Caregivers

(direct care for clients and their caregivers)

Respite Assistance - Companion to care-receiver while the caregiver is provided respite (relief); 2-4 hours weekly or as needed.

Business Help - Sort mail, invoices, payments, Medicare forms, supplemental insurance forms, paperwork; weekly/monthly.

Chore Service - Small home repairs, assignment usually completed in 1-2 visits.

Friendly Visiting - 1-2 hour visits; weekly or every other week.

Light Housekeeping - Dusting, vacuuming, organizing, laundry; weekly or every other week.

Meal Preparation - Light meals in caregiver’s absence or in between Meals on Wheels service; as needed.

Pet Care - Walking, brushing, bathing, playing, cleaning pet areas, litterbox, and/or emergency pet food distribution.

Shopping - Grocery, drugstore, etc.; weekly/every other week.

Telephone Reassurance - 10-15 minute telephone conversations; weekly schedule.

Yard Work/Snow Shoveling - Rake leaves, weed gardens, mow lawn, shovel snow; as needed.

Support Group Volunteer - Stay with care-receiver to enable caregiver to attend monthly caregiver support group; one afternoon or evening per month.

The Volunteer Caregivers Program provides training and continuous support to volunteers. Volunteer caregivers on average provide 2-3 hours of service either weekly or bi-monthly. Special group projects are available throughout the year.

Administration

Afternoon Receptionist - Main office in Federal Heights. Answer and transfer incoming telephone calls on a four-line system, greet clients and guests as they enter, etc. Currently need a regular Wednesday afternoon receptionist and occasional relief receptionists to work on an as-needed, emergency basis.
