Adult Day Service
The Senior Hub's Adult Day Service provides a
break (respite) to the caregiver while providing social activities and health
services for adults with Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, chronic illnesses, and
other problems that increase their needs for care. Adult Day Service
participants have an opportunity to interact socially with peers, share in
stimulating activities, and receive assistance with their activities of daily
living.
Our Adult Day Service offers supervised social and physical activities,
discussions to stimulate memory, nutritious lunch and snacks, and wellness
checks.
Adult Day programs are one of the fastest growing components of
community-based long-term care. They have been providing a form of respite for
caregivers in the United States for more than twenty-five years.
In 1978 there were only 300 centers nationwide. According to the National
Adult Day Services Association (NADSA), there are now over 4,000.
Providing care for an aging parent, spouse, or loved one can be an
overwhelming responsibility for family members and friends. Too often,
struggling caregivers believe that nursing home placement is the only
alternative available to them. Adult Day Services can be an option.
The Senior Hub's Adult Day Service provides support and socialization for
older adults who are at risk being home alone during the day due to physical,
cognitive, or socialization needs. Participants may be enrolled in the program
for as little as one half day per week up to five days per week. Payment for
the services may be private-pay, insurance coverage, or from Medicaid (for
those clients who qualify financially).
Whether the caregiver works outside the home, needs time for personal
appointments, has errands to run, or just needs a break, The Senior Hub's
Adult Day Service can be the solution. It might be the one thing that makes a
difference as to whether families can keep their loved one at home, rather
than placing them in a nursing home or assisted-living facility. We'll make
sure your loved one receives the care they need.

Help Us Surpass our Goal! The Senior Hub's
Adult Day Service (ADS) moved to a new and larger site in Northglenn in
October 2006. The move enables us to expand our program, yet remain
conveniently located for family caregivers. St. Anthony Health
Foundation recently awarded The Senior Hub a generous grant of $10,000 to
assist with remodeling and interior construction costs to improve features in
the space for clients. Approximately 1/3rd of the grant provides a
dollar for dollar "match" for new donations to help The Senior Hub
continue to assist ADS families who cannot afford services and for the ADS
program's activities.
